DATE OF RELEASE: July 2, 2014
On June 30, 2014 at 0939 hours, West Covina Police received a call regarding a possible residential burglary in progress at a home located in the 1100 block of South Montezuma Way, West Covina.
Officers arriving on scene located a white Chevy S-10 parked in front of the location and found a male Filipino (later identified as S/Jaurigue) hiding in the back seat area. After a perimeter was set up, two additional suspects were seen running from the location. One suspect (later identified as S/Santana) was immediately detained in a neighbor’s back yard. The second suspect (later identified as S/Perich) ran into the South Hills Country Club Golf Course. Officers chased this suspect and detained him on the course grounds. Officers determined that the male who was in the vehicle was involved in the burglary. All three suspects were arrested without further incident.
A 78 year old male resident was inside the location asleep in his bedroom during the burglary. Of the items stolen and recovered, many were taken from the room the resident was sleeping in.
No one was injured during this incident. All the stolen property recovered was returned to the victims.
The three suspects were arrested and transported to the West Covina Police Department jail and are scheduled to appear at the West Covina Superior Court today.
The suspects are identified as:
• Robert Perich, 22, last known address reported in Ontario, arrested for Burglary, Receiving Stolen Property, Resisting Arrest and two outstanding warrants. Bail set at $195,000.00.
• Luis Santana, 18 of Ontario, arrested for Burglary and Receiving Stolen Property. Bail set at $50,000.00.
• Justin de Jesus Jaurigue, 23 of Ontario, arrested for Burglary. Bail set at $50,000.00.
