Orange County: The second of three murder suspects is now in custody.
This evening at approximately 6:15 P.M., James L. Davidson, 36, was located by Indiana State Police investigators and members of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department at his brother’s home near Marengo on Hogtown Road. Davidson was taken into custody without incident and is being transported to the Orange County Jail.
Davidson is the second of three suspects in Monday’s double homicide to be placed into custody. Elbert Brooks of New Albany was arrested Tuesday evening in Marengo. Police are still actively searching for John R. Carpenter, 35, Marengo, for his involvement in the triple shooting. Anyone with information on his location is encouraged to contact the Indiana State Police at 1-812-482-1441. Carpenter is considered armed and dangerous; those that might encounter Carpenter are asked not to approach him.
