On Jun. 26th at 1542 hours, Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety Police and Fire personnel responded to the intersection of El Camino Real and Helen Ave on a report of a major injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Upon arrival of emergency response personnel, it was determined that the pedestrian had sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. The driver of the vehicle sustained no injuries. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.

The cause of this collision is currently under investigation by the Sunnyvale DPS Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT). Any witnesses to the traffic collision are requested to contact MAIT Investigator Rudy Ramirez (408) 730-7109.
