Newburgh Man Arrested for Embezzling over $114,000 from Warrick County Business

Warrick County – Earlier this week, Joshua Kenworthy, 38, of Newburgh, was arrested for Forgery and Theft, after an Indiana State Police investigation revealed he embezzled over $114,000 from Fibertech, a company located in northwest Warrick County.

Indiana State Police Detective Brad Chandler initiated a criminal investigation in February after personnel at Fibertech noticed Joshua Kenworthy, a former employee, had allegedly sold plastic from Fibertech to several other companies for his personal gain.

During the investigation, Detective Chandler discovered that Kenworthy had been selling plastic to other companies and depositing the cash into his own plastic business account that he developed in January 2013. Between January 2013 and February 2014, Kenworthy allegedly exerted unauthorized control over property of Fibertech and deposited over $114,000 into his personal account.

A felony arrest warrant was issued earlier this week for Kenworthy’s arrest. The warrant was served June 24 while he was in custody in the Warrick County Jail on an unrelated matter. Kenworthy is currently being held on $5,000 bond.

• Joshua Kenworthy, 38, of Newburgh, IN
1. Theft, Class D Felony (5 Counts)
2. Forgery, Class C Felony (2 Counts)
