Paoli: Investigators have learned that a second victim has died as a result of a shooting in Orange County earlier today.
Cory Michael Harris, 25, died this evening at University of Louisville Hospital from a gunshot wound to the head sustained today in a shooting three miles north of Paoli. Daniel Smitson, 29, Paoli, remains in stable condition at U of L Hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound to the mouth. Nicholas Fields, 56, was pronounced dead after being transported to IU Health in Paoli for a gunshot wound to the head.
State Police investigators and crime scene technicians remain on scene this evening looking for clues into what occurred earlier today at 2350 North County Road 200 West. Troopers will remain on scene throughout the night to maintain the security of the scene, pending the results of the autopsies tomorrow.
