Active Shooter scenarios are on the rise throughout the country. The Clayton County Sheriff's Office, Fire Department and Police Department are committed to training together to prepare for any type of situation should they occur in county buildings. This training is invaluable for the safety of employees, citizens and other occupants of these buildings. However, these scenarios could occur anywhere. Therefore, The Clayton County Sheriff's Office is recommending every citizen take the free training offered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The free training can be completed on-line and will help prepare occupants of businesses or other type buildings should an Active Shooter situation occur.
