Two Arrested After Pursuit and Crash
Indianapolis, IN- Two Indianapolis men are in Eskenazi Hospital and in custody after crashing a reported stolen car they were operating while trying to elude police.
Late this morning at approximately 11:16 a.m., Trooper Adam Buell and Probationary Trooper Phil Cooley conducted a traffic stop on a reported stolen Ford Escort on NB I-465 near I-70 on the eastside of Indianapolis.
As the troopers approached the vehicle it sped off taking the I-70 WB exit to SB Shadeland Avenue. The pursuit continued SB on 21st, 16th and 10th street. The driver drove WB on Washington Street from Kitley then went SB on Arlington. Stop sticks were placed at Stop 11 road and the driver drove into the ditch to avoid them. The pursuit continued EB on County Line road were the vehicle crashed into a field but continued through the field and went EB on Copeland. From Copeland the driver went NB on Matthews then back EB on Copeland. The driver then fled SB on Five Points Road. At Five Points the driver drove into the ditch to evade an IMPD vehicle at the intersection of Five Points and Main Street.
The vehicle went down a rock embankment and nosed into a field. The vehicle rolled once and came to rest. The driver, Adam Omran, 25, of Nobelsville was ejected from the vehicle. The front seat passenger, Nicholas Marker, 25, of Indianapolis was wearing a seatbelt and was not ejected during the crash.
Both subjects were transported to Eskanazi Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Omran is wanted on warrants out of Hamilton County for possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of paraphernalia. He is also facing additional charges as a result of his actions today of Resisting law Enforcement, Cass D Felony, Receiving Stolen Property, Class D Felony, Criminal Recklessness with a Motor Vehicle, Class A Misdemeanor and Aggressive Driving, Class A Misdemeanor.
Marker is wanted on warrants out of Marion County for Escape and Battery. Marker is not facing additional charges from the pursuit.
The pursuit lasted 19 minutes and reached a top speed of 100 mph.
