Sheriff’s Detectives Arrest Santa Maria Felon Following Investigation

A Santa Maria resident was booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail following a long term investigation by Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives with the Special Investigations Bureau.  At approximately 2:00 p.m., yesterday, June 19, Sheriff’s detectives served a search warrant at the residence of 31-year-old Jorge Adan Ruiz Macedo in the 2300 block of Teelynn Avenue in the City of Santa Maria.

During a search of the residence, Sheriff’s detectives discovered Macedo was in possession of a large quantity of methamphetamines, controlled steroids, ecstasy and ammunition.  They also found United States currency believed to be acquired from the sales of narcotics.

Macedo was arrested and transported to the Santa Barbara County Jail.  He was booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sales and being a felon in possession of ammunition. His bail is set at $25,000.

The Sheriff’s Office is also requesting the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office to review charges of child endangerment due to fact that children were present in the home.
