Don't display expensive jewelry and/or cameras that might draw unwanted attention
Always lock your car, even if the stop is quick
Make sure your kids know where the local Lost and Found in case you are separated
HOME SECURITY:
Ask a neighbor to pick up mail and newspapers
Every external door should have a sturdy dead bolt lock
Give extra keys to a neighbor instead of hiding it outside of your home
If your doors don't fit tightly in their frames, install weather stripping around them
Put timers on several interior household lights
Install exterior lights and keep your home well lit at night
Consider installing a house alarm if you travel often
