The township is pleased to announce that NJDOT is scheduled to fully open the newly constructed Route 1 and Aaron Road intersection on Monday, June 23, including the new reverse jughandle on Route 1 North.
This is the first of three major intersections to open that have been the subject of nearly $10 million in local improvements required by the township of the developer of Main Street North Brunswick, as a condition of building the new transit village on Route 1.
Both Commerce Boulevard and the intersection of Adams and Cozzens Lane, including a new bypass road, are in the final phases of construction and will open this summer.
All three newly designed intersections feature the addition of new sections of roadway, traffic signals, and multiple turning lanes to better facilitate local traffic.
