During the last several months, we have received several citizen reports of a possible telephone scam. The citizens reported receiving telephone calls from unknown subjects claiming to be Culver City Police Department representatives who stated that a family member was in custody at the Culver City Police Department. The unknown caller then went on to ask the citizen to wire money for the family member’s bail.
These calls are not legitimate and are not from Culver City Police Department representatives. We recommend never wiring money to any source unless you are absolutely sure it is legitimate.
