(Etowah County, Alabama) A Gadsden man was arrested in connection to an assault against a juvenile, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“James Franklin Woods, 34, of Gadsden, is charged with one count of second degree kidnapping, which is a felony, one count of third degree assault and one count of menacing, both are misdemeanors,” states Investigator Lee Amerson.

Woods allegedly held the 16 year-old male victim at gunpoint to force him out of his girlfriend’s car and into his car near the intersection of Pulltight Road and US Highway 411. The incident occurred on Monday, June 16.

The victim was driven to Woods’ residence on Pulltight Road, Coates Bend community, where he was assaulted by the suspect. Woods had accused the victim of breaking into his home.

Woods was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center and is being held on $51,500.00 bond.
