The Creek County Sheriff’s Office requested OSBI investigate a jail death early this morning. Inmate David M. Ernst (d.o.b. 11/6/1960) was found dead before 6 a.m. near the shower area inside the Creek County Criminal Justice Center. OSBI is investigating Ernst’s death as suspicious although no foul play is expected. The medical examiner’s office will perform an autopsy to determine cause and manner of death. Ernst was recently convicted of manslaughter.
