The Tahlequah Police Department has requested OSBI investigate an allegation of embezzlement within the Tahlequah Chamber of Commerce. In the coming months, OSBI agents will track how much money came in to the organization, who had access to the funds, and how the money was spent. Once the investigation is complete, the OSBI case agent will deliver a copy of the report to the Tahlequah Police Department (requesting agency) and to the district attorney’s office. Based upon the facts inside the report, the district attorney will determine what, if any, laws were broken and by whom.
