Update on Windsor Shooting

The following is updated information regarding the shooting that occurred in the Town of Windsor last night.

The three men arrested were booked in the Sonoma County Main Jail. The men are identified as Miguel Angel Reynosa Madrigal, Ricardo Botello, and Jose Hugo Martinez-Jimenez.

Miguel Angel Reynosa Madrigal, 19 years old from Windsor, was arrested for violation of 664/187 PC – Attempted Murder, 246 PC – Shoot at Occupied Vehicle, 182(a)(1) PC – Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, and 25400(a)(2) PC - Carry Concealed Loaded Firearm on a Person. His bail was set at $1,000,000. He will be arraigned on June 17, 2014 at 1330 hours, in Courtroom 9 of the Superior Court of Sonoma County.

Ricardo Botello, 18 years old from Healdsburg, was arrested for violation of 664/187 PC - Attempted Murder, 246 PC – Shoot at Occupied Vehicle, and 182(a)(1) PC – Conspiracy to Commit a Crime. His bail was set at $1,000,000. He will be arraigned on June 17, 2014 at 1330 hours, in Courtroom 9 of the Superior Court of Sonoma County.

Jose Hugo Martinez-Jimenez, 19 years old from Santa Rosa, was arrested for violation of 664/187 PC – Attempted Murder, and 182(a)(1) PC – Conspiracy to Commit a Crime. His bail was set at $1,000,000. He will be arraigned on June 17, 2014 at 1330 hours, in Courtroom 9 of the Superior Court of Sonoma County.


Subsequent to the arrests, Detectives from the Violent Crimes Investigations Unit of the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a residence in Windsor. Additional charges are being considered against the three men, including violently resisting arrest.

The VCI Detectives are continuing this investigation to determine if the men had any gang affiliation. The victim has absolutely no connection to any criminal street gangs. The shooting appears to be a random, unprovoked act of violence against a purely innocent victim.

Healdsburg Police Department is also investigating the crimes that occurred in their jurisdiction and additional charges may be added by that agency. Anyone with information pertaining to their investigation should contact Healdsburg PD at 707-431-3377.
