Martin County (Shoals): Murder charges were filed this afternoon against a Shoals man for the Sunday night slaying of his son.
John Bruce Tow, 60, Shoals, was formally charged with Murder this afternoon in Martin County Court after an in-depth investigation by the Indiana State Police. Tow was in a domestic dispute throughout the day on Sunday, June 8, with his son, Jonathan Tow, 32, Shoals. The dispute culminated with John striking Jonathan in the neck with a fixed blade knife, severing his carotid artery. Jonathan died as a result of his injury.
John Tow was initially charged Monday morning on a count of Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon. After further investigation by the State Police, the Martin County Prosecutor believed there was ample probable cause to charge Tow with the murder of his son.
Martin County Prosecutor Mike Steiner was grateful for the hard work and time dedicated by all law enforcement on this case.
