Thursday June 12th @ 3 PM Special Olympics Torch Run Final Leg Ceremony at Palmyra Borough Hall All Residents Are Invited to Attend.

On Thursday, June 12th, at approximately 3:10 PM, after a ceremony at the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia and after crossing the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, Law Enforcement Officers from around the nation — including some of Palmyra’s Finest — will arrive in our community carrying the Olympic Torch on its way to the Special Olympics 2014 USA Games!

Palmyra’s Police Department is privileged to announce they’ll be participating in this year’s Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run, carrying the Olympic Torch on its Final Leg to the USA Games being held in New Jersey this year.

Over 4,000 athletes, 10,000 volunteers, and over 75,000 spectators are expected to participate in the 2014 USA Games.

On Thursday, June 12th, at approximately 3:10 PM, runners will be stopping at Palmyra’s Borough Hall for a brief ceremony and presentation by Mayor Karen Scheffler and Chief Scott Pearlman.

The entire community is encouraged to attend to cheer on America’s Special Olympics athletes and Palmyra’s Police Department
