The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation begins its 14th Agents’ Academy today. Thirty-four special agents hired since the last academy in 2007 will attend this six week advanced criminal investigation academy. Six law enforcement officers from outside agencies will attend the academy as guests. Those agencies include the Muskogee County Sheriff’s Department, Tulsa County Sheriff’s Department, Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Department, Duncan Police Department, Warr Acres Police Department, and the Stroud Police Department. The training will take place at the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics on North Lincoln Boulevard in Oklahoma City.

The academy includes advanced training in areas of homicide investigation, interview and interrogation, crime scene investigation and reconstruction, blood stain pattern analysis, and child abuse investigation. Graduation is scheduled for July 22nd. OSBI agents attending this academy have an average 13 years in law enforcement and have already graduated CLEET.

An academy was scheduled in 2010, but it was cancelled due to budget cuts.
