Interdiction for the Protection of Children

Lafayette-The Indiana State Police at the Lafayette Post with expertise from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the FBI Behavior Analysis Units and representatives from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children are hosting a seminar on assisting patrol officers and investigators in the investigation and recovery of missing, endangered and exploited children. This training will take place at the Lafayette State Police Post on the 10th and the 11th of June and Prosecutors and Child Protective Service workers are encouraged to attend.

The training will assist patrol officers in roadside investigative techniques, Indiana Law as it pertains to sex crimes and human trafficking and child interview techniques. Since its inception in 2010, over 80 children have been recovered in the State of Texas. The program has since gone nationally with other states receiving the training. This will be the first time it has been presented in Indiana.

If you are interested in attending the course, contact Lieutenant Tom McKee at the Lafayette State Police Post at 765-567-2125. If your time is limited, you may attend the first day session for a four hour overview in order to get an understanding of this topic and what we can do as a community to combat these types of crimes. There is no cost involved just your time and lunch for both days will be your responsibility.
