Extensive Search for Kyle in Port Barrington done. Still seek to ID Kyle& his parents. No missing child report taken at this time.

On June 4, 2014 at approximately 5:15 P.M., the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a suspicious incident that occurred in the area of Fox Trail Park, off of Willow Street, in Port Barrington, Illinois. Sheriff’s Deputies met with two juveniles who reported that they saw their friend, Kyle, on a yellow bike on the bike path. A man followed Kyle, and then they did not see him after that. They did not see the man take Kyle, but after this occurred, Kyle did not return to the park. They became concerned and the police were notified.

Sheriff’s deputies began an investigation seeking to identify this boy, who may go by the name of Kyle, and his whereabouts. The boy was described as approximately 4 foot 6 inches, 80 lbs, with blond hair. His friends call him Kyle, and he was riding a yellow bike. Throughout the investigation and at the time of this release, the Sheriff’s Office has not received any reports of a missing juvenile or further leads of this child.

An extensive search of the area was completed with assistance from the McHenry County Emergency Management Agency Search Team, Island Lake Police Department, Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the McHenry County Conservation Police, and police K9 units from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, the McHenry Police Department, and Carpentersville Police Department. Deputies also worked with area school officials and officials from the Village of Port Barrington. Reverse 911 calls were conducted to the area, neighborhood canvasses were conducted, and information was shared with the community through Nixle and social media. During the course of the investigation there was no evidence of abduction and the yellow bike was not located.
