Wanted felon arrested in the Town of Windsor

On 6/4/2014 at approximately 3:45 p.m., an off-duty deputy sheriff was shopping in Home Depot, located at 6280 Hembree Lane, Windsor. While in Home Depot, the deputy observed a subject who he knew was wanted by the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety for several felony crimes. The deputy subsequently contacted deputies from the Windsor Police Department who responded to the scene.

Once on scene, the deputies continued to watch the suspect as he exited, then returned into the store attempting to return items and then exited making his way to a vehicle. Once inside the vehicle, the suspect met up with a separate vehicle, which contained numerous other subjects. As the Windsor deputies approached the subjects, the primary suspect fled in his vehicle from the parking lot onto Hembree Lane. The suspect continued to drive on Hembree Lane at a very high rate of speed, passing several vehicles. Pursuing deputies caught up to the suspect at Hembree Lane and Cornel Street, where the suspect stopped his vehicle and surrendered. The other subjects contacted in the parking lot were subsequently released from the scene.

Arrested was George Minaidis, 41, of Santa Rosa for burglary, possession/ usage of stolen credit cards, possession of stolen property and committing a felony while out on bail. Minaidis was subsequently released to the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety.
