2014 Junior Police Academy to be held 7/16 through 7/24 
ATTENTION MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS: The South River Police Department and South River Municipal Alliance will be hosting our 5th annual Junior Police Academy!
If you've ever wondered what it is like to be a police officer or what they do this is your chance to find out. Meet the police officers, talk on a police radio, learn criminal and motor vehicle laws, investigate a crime scene, collect evidence, conduct motor vehicle stops, see the inside of a real jail and more.
This eight day academy will be taught by South River Police Officers and will include visits to the New Jersey State Police Museum and a real working criminal laboratory.
The academy is open to all residents of South River who are scheduled to attend 6th, 7th or 8th grade in the fall of 2014. Instruction will be held at the South River Middle School on weekdays between 8:00am and 4:00pm starting July 16th and ending July 24th.
To participate in this exciting educational experience, pick up an application at South River Police Headquarters Monday through Friday between 9:00am and 3:30pm. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact Diane Nale at 732-257-6727 ext 102.
Cadets will be chosen on a first come first serve basis and class size is limited to 25 cadets. Returning cadets will not automatically receive preference over new applicants.
