2014 Warrior Dash Road Closure Dates and Times

Dear Resident/Business Owner,

On Saturday and Sunday June 14th and 15th, 2014, which is Father’s Day weekend, The Dollinger Family Farm in Channahon will once again be hosting a “Warrior Dash” race. The Dollinger Farm is located on Hansel Road between Ridge Road and McLinden Road in Grundy County. More information concerning the race detail can be found at www.warriordash.com.

According to the race event coordinators, there are over 20,000 racers scheduled to participate in the Channahon event. There will be additional spectators, race workers and emergency personnel on site and in the area of the Dollinger Farm each day. Needless to say, there will be an extraordinary amount of vehicles travelling to and from the event location on both days of the event. To accommodate the high traffic volume, it will be necessary to temporarily divert the flow of traffic on certain roads during the height of the event. The road changes will be as follows:

TRAFFIC PATTERN CHANGES – TIMES:

• Ridge Road from Route 6 to Hansel Road – One-way South only.
• Hansel Road from Ridge Road to McLinden Road – One-way West.
• McLinden Road from Hansel Road to Route 6 – One-way North.

Saturday, June 14th, 2014 – 7:00am to approximately 8:00pm.
Sunday, June 15th, 2014 – 7:00am to approximately 7:00pm.

Signs will be posted in the area announcing the changes. In addition, the Keating Point – Woods of Aux Sable subdivisions will be closed to all but emergency vehicles and local traffic during the event to minimize racers parking or attempting overnight camping. Using Keating Blvd. will also allow fire, medical and police vehicles to safely transition in and out of the response staging area. In the event of a medical emergency, an area in the subdivision, away from residences, is designated and may be used for a medical helicopter landing zone by appropriate personnel. Any residents or guests should simply inform police officers that they are going to a specific address in the subdivision and they will be allowed to pass. We are hoping to keep any inconvenience to a minimum for residents.

This is the fourth consecutive year the Dollinger Family Farm has hosted this event. Lessons learned and continued planning over those years have prepared the Channahon Police Department and Village of Channahon in making the event as safe and trouble free as possible. If you have questions feel free to call the Channahon Police Department administrative offices at: 815-467-5152 Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm. If police assistance is needed at any time, please dial “911” for emergencies or call 815-467-2112 for 24 hour non-emergency police service.

Sincerely,
Adam D. Bogart
Deputy Chief, Channahon Police Dept.
