Celebrity Arrest: "Ray J" arrested for trespassing, vandalism, resisting arrest and battery on a police officer.
At approximately 7:30 pm, officers responded to a sexual battery at the Beverly Wilshire hotel located in the 9500 block of Wilshire Bl., where a subject later identified as William Ray Norwood Jr. aka “Ray J,” age 33, was involved in an altercation in the bar. It was alleged that he had grabbed the buttocks of a female, however it was later determined that no sexual battery had occurred and the contact was incidental. After speaking to officers, Mr. Norwood agreed to leave the hotel. He subsequently entered the valet area and became belligerent with the valets and refused to leave. Hotel security requested to make a private persons arrest after repeatedly asking Mr. Norwood to leave. After the uniform police officers took Mr. Norwood into custody and placed him in the rear of a police vehicle, he became belligerent and used his feet to shatter the side window of the police vehicle. Mr. Norwood was subsequently removed from the police vehicle in order to restrain his feet; at which time he became combative and spat into the face of one of the officers. In addition to the private person’s arrest for trespassing, Mr. Norwood is also charged with vandalism, resisting arrest and battery on a police officer.
His bail was set at $20,000, he posted bond earlier this morning and was released. He has a court date on July 25, 2014, at LAX Court.
