**UPDATE**
State Road 64 to Close in Princeton
Construction continuing, concrete deep patching requires road closure
PRINCETON, Ind. – Construction continues to move along on the State Road 64 resurfacing project through the heart of Princeton and on Monday, June 9, contractor’s crews will need to close the roadway. S.R. 64 will be closed from the junction of U.S. 41 to the junction of S.R. 57.
The closure will allow contractor’s crews to deep patch the roadway between Brown Street and Dorsey Street with concrete. The concrete requires approximately 3-4 days to cure before traffic can be allowed back onto the roadway. We anticipate the road will be re-opened to traffic by the end of the day on Friday, June 13.
No through vehicle traffic will be allowed, however local residents will have access to the points of closure. The official detour will follow U.S. 41, S.R. 168 and S.R. 57.
Dave O’Mara Contractor of North Vernon, Indiana, was awarded the contract in late 2013 and includes
deep patching the roadway, milling off existing pavement and replacing with new asphalt.
INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a work zone. For the latest news and information about INDOT, please visit www.in.gov/indot.
