Multi-State, Multi-Agency Enforcement Effort

Dearborn County: On May 20 and 21 members of the Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division were joined at the West Harrison Weigh Station on I-74 by Indiana State Department of Health, Food Safety and Inspection Services, the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Services, Marketing and Regulatory Programs Business Service, Investigation Enforcement Services, and local health departments in a joint enforcement effort targeting commodities and/or commodity pests traveling westbound on I-74 from Ohio into Indiana. Over the two day enforcement effort, approximately 30 trucks hauling commodities were inspected for health and safety compliance with no major violations noted. This enforcement initiative is part of the continuing efforts of the Indiana State Police and various health and food safety agencies to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as it relates to the transportation of food and agricultural products.
