IN CUSTODY - #LASD Sexual Assault Suspect Stemming from May 17, 2014 Incident on a Metro Train
Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested
On Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at approximately 10:00 P.M., a male adult walked into Inglewood Police Department and said he was informed that the police were looking for him and his picture had been broadcasted on the news. Sergeant Roel Garcia from South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station responded to Inglewood Police Department and confirmed the male was in fact the person wanted for assault with the intent to commit rape on a Metro Train. The crime is being investigated by the Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Bureau.
The male was identified as 23-year-old Danon Drake. He was transported and booked at South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station at 2235 hours and is being held on $1,000,000.00 bail.
The suspect was identified after his picture was broadcast over news broadcast. The Sheriff’s Department received several tips as a result of the news broadcast which led to the arrest of the suspect.

On Saturday, May 17, 2014, at approximately 10:45 P.M., a female adult boarded a Metro Purple Line Train at the Wilshire/Western Station, headed toward Union Station. The suspect approached the victim, pushed her causing her to fall down, and sexually assaulted her. The victim was able to kick the suspect, break free, and exit the train once it stopped at the Wilshire/Normandie Station. There was no other known patrons in the vicinity during the assault.
The suspect is described as a Male Black, approximately 35 to 45 years old, black hair, brown eyes, 5’-09”, between 180-200 pounds. This suspect is wanted for 220(a)(1)P.C. (Assault with the Intent to Commit Rape)
LA Sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau is investigating this case and is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
