City of Arcadia named as "Host City" for the Special Olympics World Games Los Angeles 2015!!! 
Today the Special Olympics of Southern California and LA2015 announced the City of Arcadia would be an official Host City for next year's Special Olympics World Games, which are being held in Los Angeles. Over 7,000 athletes from over 170 different countries will be participating in the events.
As a Host City, Arcadia will house, feed, entertain, and provide training facilities for the athletes as they prepare for their sporting events.
The Host Town Program is a very special 3-day program that takes place prior to the Opening Ceremony of the Special Olympics World Games.
At their Host Towns, delegations of athletes from around the world will be welcomed and celebrated. The schedule of events will include getting to know community members, taking part in cultural activities unique to each area, and practicing and resting for The Games.
The Special Olympics athletes will feel truly celebrated and Host Town members will make friends for life.
