Advisory

Suspicious Incident reported in the Borough of Sea Girt on 05/27/2014

On Tuesday morning at approximately 8:10am a student observed a suspicious vehicle stop in the 700 block of Boston Blvd. The operator of the vehicle said something to the child to cause him to be alarmed. The child then quickly made his way to school. The vehicle description that was given is; A white 4dr vehicle with a strip approximately 4 inches wide across the door. The rear windows are darker than the front and the rear of the vehicle has stickers spread around it. The driver was described as a tall Hispanic male clean shaven with a Hispanic accent. Although I feel there is no need to panic residents, I do feel you should take the time to speak to your children or grandchildren about the importance of safety when walking on public streets. With summer approaching, the nice weather also brings many unfamiliar visitors to our area. Be observant and aware of your surroundings and always trust your instincts. Officers of the Sea Girt Police Department have been altered to this incident and increased patrols have been implemented. If you have any information on this suspicious incident, please call Detective John DeMillio of the Sea Girt Police Department @ 732-449-7300. Extension 432. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your day
