The City of Kansas City, Missouri, advises motorists that the Kansas City Heart & Stroke Walk/5K will affect traffic in the Plaza area this Saturday, May 31 from about 7 a.m. to noon. The race will temporarily close the following streets:

• West 47th Street/Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard, between Rockhill Road and Jefferson Street
• Jefferson Street, between West 47th Street and Ward Parkway (north)
• Ward Parkway (north), between Jefferson Street and Baltimore Avenue
• Baltimore Avenue, between Ward Parkway (north) and Ward Parkway (south)/Volker Boulevard
• Ward Parkway (south)/Volker Boulevard, between Baltimore Avenue and Rockhill Road
• Rockhill Road, between Volker Boulevard and East 44th Street
•  East 44th Street, between Rockhill Road and Oak Street
• Oak Street, between East 44th Street and East 47th Street
• Main Street, between 47th Street and Ward Parkway (north)

Please note, police are prepared to allow motorists to cross the routes when they deem it safe for race participants. Please observe caution and obey all posted detours, barricades and no parking signs.

As a service to our residents, the City sends occasional notices about temporary road closures due to outdoor races to help residents better plan their weekends and avoid inconvenient road closures or delays.
