INCIDENT: Homicide

SUSPECT: None identified at this time
The Marietta Police Department Detectives Division is currently investigating a homicide that occurred at The Dwells @750 Apartments located at 750 Franklin Road.
At approximately 12:15am, Marietta Officers responded to building 16 for a report of multiple shots being fired. Upon arrival officers discovered that a total of 3 persons had been shot during a large party. One victim was transported by ambulance to Kennestone Hospital while the other two victims were driven to the hospital by friends prior to the arrival of the officers. The on scene investigation revealed that a large party was taking place at an apartment in building 16. According to witnesses, a group of approximately 4-5 unwanted guests arrived on scene and started an altercation with some of the party goers. One of the unwanted guests pulled out a gun and started shooting into the crowd. Two victims sustained non-life threatening wounds, while the third succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at Kennestone Hospital. The homicide victim has been identified as 19 year old Christopher Wilson of Marietta. The other two victims are identified as 19 year old Chauncey Martin and 18 year old Malik Phillips. The investigation is still active and detectives are currently following up on leads.
