San Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon visits an 8 year old boy who dreams of some day becoming a deputy sheriff

On Monday, May 26, 2014, San Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon along with several deputies made a surprise visit to an 8 year old boy, Odie Garcia, and his family. Odie is battling Lymphoma and had recently expressed to family and members of the Debbie Chisholm Memorial Foundation that he would one day like to become a deputy sheriff. Odie was very surprised when Sheriff McMahon arrived at his home to meet him. He was given a ride in the patrol car and showered with gifts to include a department baseball that was signed by Sheriff McMahon. The Debbie Chisholm Foundation a law enforcement based wish granting charity organized today’s visit. Executive Director Corky Bell and volunteer Kylleen Coogan along with Deputy Lauren Leichliter of the Safety Employees Benefit Association (SEBA) were there to share in the surprise.
