Hazleton woman arrested for DUI after her vehicle gets stuck on train tracks.

On May 24, 2014, at approximately 8 p.m. Sgt. Bryan Ellis was dispatched to the railroad crossings on Mill Street in Hazleton to assist a motorist whose vehicle was stuck on the tracks. Upon arriving Sgt. Ellis found a small black vehicle on the tracks and several people standing on and near that tracks. The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office was able to make contact with CSX and shut down all train traffic in the area while the incident was investigated. During the investigation Alexandria Ashley Rose Rico age 22 of Hazleton was identified as the driver. Sgt. Ellis believed Ms. Rico may be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, and administered a portable breath tests as well as standard field sobriety tests. Once the vehicle was removed from the tracks and Sgt. Ellis’ investigation was complete Ms. Rico was transported to the Gibson County Jail where she was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. Ms. Rico remains in custody on a $750 bond.
