Incident at 783 Belleview Street

The Scottsburg City Police Department was dispatched to 783 Belleview Street reference a suicidal male with a handgun at 10:16 AM.

Upon arrival, officers were advised of a domestic dispute over child molestation and Earl E. Hawkins was inside with a small caliber handgun. Officers set up a perimeter and attempted to make contact with Earl E. Hawkins, but were unsuccessful. Indiana State Police Emergency Response Team responded to the scene and made entry into the residence at approximately 3:35 PM, but the suspect had fled the scene before initial units arrived.

Earl E. Hawkins is wanted on one count of Class A felony of child molestation and one count Class C Felony child molestation. He is a 43 year old male with short red hair, height 5’2, approximately 170 pounds and does have tattoos.
