Burglary-Theft Arrests

(Etowah County, Alabama) Two Gadsden men were arrested in connection to an Etowah County school burglary, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Robbie Lee Tucker, 37, and Tony James Morgan, 26, both of Gadsden, are each charged with one count of first degree theft of property and one count of third degree burglary,” states Investigator Robin Grant. Both charges are felonies.

The duo allegedly broke into West End Elementary School, on Thursday, May 8, and stole items valued at $4,319.00. Twelve digital cameras, a walkie talkie set, dozens of instructional DVDs and 10 hand held electronics, which include: IPads, Think Pads and Kindle Fire HDs were taken during the burglary.

In addition to the stolen items, damage to the building and equipment left behind is estimated at $2,175.00.

Investigator Grant, assisted by Investigator Tripp Noojin and the Attalla Police Department, were able to recover and return two digital cameras, a Kindle Fire HD and IPad power cord. Included in the recovery was a Panasonic projector. However, it was not taken from West End Elementary School. It was determined the projector was stolen from Susan Moore High School.

During the investigation, Investigator Robin Grant discovered Robbie Tucker was in possession of an air conditioner that was stolen, in April, from Carnes Chapel Church, Attalla. Tucker has also been charged with one count of second degree receiving stolen property.

Tucker was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center and later released on $10,000 bond. Morgan is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $7,500 bond.
