PRESS RELEASE: The Whitehall Police arrive and shortly there after a baby was born? Welcome to Whitehall's newest resident!

On Sunday, May 18, 2014, at approximately 4:38 AM, Whitehall Police were dispatched to a Broadway residence to assist a resident and Emergency Medical Services with a pregnancy related medical call.

Upon arrival to the scene Police found the resident to be in full term labor and childbirth was imminent.

While awaiting the arrival of EMS personnel, the father of the soon to be born child and Patrolman David B. Gebo assisted the mother and were given pertinent Emergency Medical Dispatch instructions by Washington County Department of Public Safety Communications Supervisor Glen P. Gosnell as the baby was born without incident.

Shortly after the birth, members of Skenesborough EMS arrived on the scene and transported the family to a local hospital.

Patrolman Gebo will be issued the first “stork” citation bar in the history of the Whitehall Police Department, which he will display proudly on his uniform, for his involvement in this very special incident.

Many thanks to Communications Supervisor Gosnell for providing the support and medical dispatch instructions to the family and Patrolman Gebo, resulting in the welcoming of the child!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FAMILY OF WHITEHALL’S NEWEST RESIDENT!
