#LASD- Accidental Electrocution Death, Unincorporated Whittier

Shortly before 3:00 AM, Thursday, May 15, 2014, deputies from Pico Rivera Station responded to the 6400 block of Danby Avenue, unincorporated Whittier, regarding a call of a possible blown transformer. The deputies were dispatched to the residence after Pico Station personnel received several calls from the area reporting a loud explosion. When the deputies arrived, they learned a man went into his backyard to check for the source of the blast, he came in contact with a downed energized power line and was electrocuted. Los Angeles County Fire Rescue responded and pronounced the victim dead at the location.
