Lawrence County Man Arrested on Allegations of Child Pornography
Lawrence County—On Thursday, May 15, at 9:44 a.m., Indiana State Police detectives from the ISP Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, served a Lawrence County arrest warrant for possession of child pornography on a Mitchell man.
On March 24 of this year, Indiana State Police Detective Kevin Getz received information from the cyber tip line of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a person identified as Joshua S. Carter was using his personal e-mail account to download and view child pornography. During the investigation, Joshua S. Carter was found to have downloaded and viewed less than 100 images of prepubescent children engaged in various sex acts.
Arrested: Joshua Shane Carter, age 33, of Mitchell, IN.
Charge: (1) count of Possession of Child Pornography, D felony
Assisting in the investigation were ISP Internet Crimes Against Children Unit Detectives Sergeant Marty Metzger and Sergeant Chris Cecil, as well as the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
