Incident: Petaluma Police Department Adopts Nextdoor, the Private Social Network for Neighborhoods
Location: Petaluma
Summary: The Petaluma Police Department announced today a partnership with Nextdoor (www.nextdoor.com), the private social network for neighborhoods, to build stronger, safer communities with the help of residents. The integration with Nextdoor will enable the Petaluma Police Department to communicate online with Petaluma neighborhoods. Residents and the Petaluma Police Department will be able to work together to improve safety and strengthen virtual neighborhood watch efforts. 28 Petaluma neighborhoods have already stared Nextdoor websites. Residents and existing Neighborhood Watch groups are encouraged to sign up for Nextdoor.com. For more information visit their website or contact the police department.
