The Newark Police Department is pleased to report Jose Avila; a 77 year old male that was reported missing has been located. This morning about 6:45 AM, citizens who had been made aware of Mr. Avila’s plight through media and NIXLE reports found him on Albrae St. near the intersection of Stevenson Blvd. just outside the City of Newark.

These good Samaritans comforted Mr. Avila, brought him to a nearby coffee shop and notified the Newark Police Department. It appears Mr. Avila spent the night in some bushes near a retail store. NIXLE broadcasts along with the news media were instrumental in locating Mr. Avila. The Newark Police Department thanks the local media as well as all who were on the lookout. Mr. Avila was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.
