Officers responded to the 1200 block of West Whitney Avenue in reference to shots being fired. When they arrived on the scene, witnesses reported seeing a white male collapse in front of 1206 West Whitney Avenue. The male was transported to the hospital in critical condition and shortly afterwards he was pronounced deceased by the coroner. Police are now on the lookout for a possible suspect. He is a black male last seen wearing a red shirt and jean shorts and may have gotten in a silver car.
