There is a scam circulating the area via phone calls. The caller is advising she is Deborah Holland with Publisher's Clearing House. They ask that you purchase Greendot Moneypak cards and provide the Moneypak Number. Once the perpetrator has access to the Moneypak number, they have access to the money that was placed on the card. This cannot be traced and the money cannot be taken back.
Deputies have confirmed that the identity given by the perpetrator is false. Other methods include the use of money orders. If you suspect to be a victim of a scam, do not provide any personal information. A strong indicator of a scam includes having to pay money first in order to receive a reward.
