Tuesday evening, the Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office was called out to an attempted home invasion in the 200 block of S. Parker in Mountain Park. Just before midnight, a homeowner was awakened by a knock at his door. When he opened the door, a man struck him with a large metal pipe. The homeowner shot the man several times with a small caliber handgun. The shooting victim then went to his house located several blocks away and called the sheriff’s office about being shot. He was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital with possible life-threatening injuries. The Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office requested OSBI investigative and crime scene agents work the case. At this point, no arrest has been made. Since no one has been arrested or charged with a crime, no names will be released at this time.
