Advisory

The Alameda County Bomb Squad has determined that the object is not an explosive device. Roads are now open.

All public safety agencies are clearing the scene of the suspicious object and Thornton Ave is now open.

Alameda County Bomb Squad responded to the scene and were able to determine that the suspicious object located in the area of Thornton Ave and Dondero Way was not an explosive device.  At this time we do not have a definitive determination of what the object is, but it is described as a black canister with multiple wires and parts protruding.

We'd like to thank the Alameda County Bomb Squad, Fremont Fire and Paramedics Plus for their quick response and support this morning.  In addition, we'd like to thank the commuters and our community members, who were affected by the road closure, for your patience.
