Good afternoon Saugus. The following crimes were reported in the Saugus area over the past week:
There was child abuse reported on April 17th. The victim, a seven month old, was being treated in Los Angeles for injuries consistent with those of being abused in the home. Detectives are working the case.
A petty theft was reported in the 265002 block of Bouquet Canyon Road on April 17th. While at a shopping center the victim left her medication unattended in her basket while she continued to shop. When she returned to her cart she discovered it was missing.
There were multiple arrests made over the past week in the Saugus area. The arrests include assault, narcotics, theft and DUI.
A crime prevention tip for the businesses in the Saugus area: Don’t leave cash in your registers overnight. If your cash register is visible from outside your business try leaving the drawer open with the tray on top, so it is visibly empty. Over the years there have been window smash burglaries where the suspects went straight to the cash register. A closed register might just be the temptation a “would be thief” is looking for.
