Police Investigating Homicide on Brianfield Cove
Jackson police are investigating a Monday afternoon homicide on Brianfield Cove
Around 1:15 p.m., police were called to the 20 block of Brianfield Cove. Based on the preliminary investigation, the victim was shot outside in the immediate area. He then went to an apartment on Brianfield Cove, forced his way inside and collapsed.
Investigators and a county medical examiner were called to the scene.
The victim appears to be a black man in his mid-20s. Investigators are working to positively identify the man. Once the man is identified, his name will be released to the public after next-of-kin notification.
Police are also attempting to identify two persons of interest. They were described as black males in their late teens to early 20s. Both were wearing white t-shirts and one was wearing red shorts. They were last seen in the area of Hillshire Drive and Northfield Cove.
