Homicide investigators arrest two suspects believed to be involved in the murder of Justin Neil Schalk.

VICTIM: Justin Neil Schalk, 40, Los Angeles
SUSPECT(s): Sean Allen Briskey, 30, Montclair
Major Austin, 31, Montclair
SUMMARY

On Friday, April 18, 2014, the human remains found inside the burning vehicle were positively identified as Justin Neil Schalk.
On Saturday, April 19, 2014, Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators served a search warrant at the 11100 block of Pipeline Avenue in the unincorporated area of Montclair. Investigators arrested Sean Allen Briskey and Major Austin. Both subjects were later booked at Central Detention Center for PC 187(a) – Murder. Additional charges are pending.
Although arrests have been made, investigators believe others may have information regarding this investigation, and are asked to contact the Homicide Detail, Detective Ed DeLaTorre or Sergeant Chris Fisher at (909) 387-3589.

On Monday, April 14, 2014, at 12:00 p.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department - Victor Valley Station were dispatched to the report of a vehicle fire near Stoddard Wells Road and Lucerne Valley Cutoff. When deputies arrived they discovered a smoldering burnt vehicle in the open desert. Upon further examination, human remains were located inside the vehicle. The Sheriff’s Homicide and Arson/Bomb details were requested.
The identity, gender, nor race of the deceased person has been made and is pending further examination and autopsy. This case is being investigated as a homicide.
