Narrative:
Investigators contacted Joseph Espinoza knowing he was wanted for a misdemeanor traffic warrant and discovered evidence of methamphetamine sales.
On April 11, Sheriff and Santa Paula Police investigators were conducting surveillance at a parking lot in the 200 block of East Harvard Blvd, Santa Paula. Detectives had received information this was an area known for narcotics sales. While there, detectives saw Joseph Espinoza drive into the lot. Knowing Espinosa had an active misdemeanor traffic warrant, he was contacted and arrested. A search of his vehicle revealed one ounce of methamphetamine, a scale, and other indicia of methamphetamine sales. Espinoza was arrested for the outstanding warrant, transportation of methamphetamine, and possession of methamphetamine for sale. He was booked into the Sheriff’s Main Jail.
The Sheriff’s Narcotics Bureau, West County Street Team, is made up of narcotics detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and the Santa Paula Police Department. This team works cooperatively to conduct narcotics investigations in the western portion of Ventura County.
