Full Notification

On 4/17/14 at approximately 11:52 PM, officers from the Chula Vista Police Department responded to 1365 Santa Cora Av. on a 911 call of a stabbing victim. The 21 year old victim was stabbed multiple times and identified the suspect as a childhood friend. As officers arrived on scene, the suspect was still in the area and ran from officers. After a short foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody. The victim was taken to Scripps Mercy and is expected to survive. The suspect is Fabian Julian Rojas (DOB 09/27/91) of Chula Vista and was booked into County Jail on the charges of Assault with a Deadly Weapon and for being under the influence of a controlled substance. The Crimes of Violence Unit is currently investigating.
