Viral Video Spawns High Praise for HCSO Smartphone App
HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A viral surveillance video released Tuesday by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office has taken local, national and international media by storm. The heart pounding home surveillance footage depicts an unidentified suspect hovering over a sleeping infant during the course of an April burglary.

During Wednesday’s broadcast of HLN’s On the Case host Vinnie Politan and commentator Lynn Berry, praised the innovative iWatchHarrisCounty smartphone app, declaring, “If you see something, text something!”

The suspect in the video remains unidentified to date. On the Case commentators endorsed iWatchHarrisCounty as 2014’s solution to crime tip reporting. “You sort of think, ‘why hasn’t anyone thought of this before?’” stated CNN Contributor Lynn Berry, “it’s actually a really cool app.”
iWatchHarrisCounty is the HCSO’s free mobile phone app that allows the public to report suspicious persons and/or activity anonymously, anytime, anywhere.
“It’s fantastic… it helps foster community awareness about suspicious or criminal activity,” remarked On the Case anchors, “I think it’s a fantastic idea.”
iWatchHarrisCounty is available for free download in the Apple APP Store and the Google Play Store. Since January 2012, at least 70 iWatchHarrisCounty tips have helped authorities file charges and arrest suspects in Harris County and beyond.
